HAIR LOSS

Fuller looking scalp

What is it?

Everyone experiences some hair loss daily. It is normal even to lose up to 100 strands of hairs per day. However, some people can experience premature hair loss due to diseases, medications, stress, injury, genetic reasons or damage to the hair like excessive dye or colors.

The Causes?

The most common cause of hair loss is caused by genetics, where hair loss is experienced by one or both parents. This is called male-pattern or female-pattern hair loss or Androgenetic Alopecia. About 50 percent of all people have this type of hair loss by the age of 40 years. The hair loss generally is gradual. Men tend to lose hair on the front hairline, forehead and on top of the head.

Women with this condition typically have gradual hair thinning throughout the scalp. This type of hair loss must be treated early for hair to grow again.

Other causes of hair loss include Alopecia Areata, where hair loss is caused by the immune system attacking hair follicles, where hair growth begins. It usually starts with one or more small, round, smooth bald patches on the scalp and can progress to total scalp hair loss or complete body hair loss.

It often begins in childhood. The hair usually grows back. However, hair loss in Alopecia Areata often comes and goes; the hair will grow back over several months in one area but will fall out in another area.

Who is affected?

The people most affected are individuals who undergo high stress, as well as goals getters. These groups of people are highly successful and much time is spent on their work to achieve their career goals. As a result, their health may suffer due to irregular meals and rest. Such individuals may be in their late 20s or earlier, depending on individual health status. Diets, if not under proper supervision, can also contribute to hair loss.

TREATMENT:

Hair loss remains treatable depending on its root cause. If you have inherited hair loss, you need treatment to grow your hair. Although it may not grow back naturally or thicker than you expected but it will prevent future loss. The approach depends on the causes of hair loss and how one feels about your own self-confidence and image .Through Laser Acupuncture, we can restore your external skin to harmonise with the internal organs. Then we prepare the scalp with special cleaning of seborrhea and stimulate the Hair with low power laser to enhance absorption of the hair tonic and nutrients to the hair follicles. The use of the right hair shampoo and hair tonic, in conjunction with nutritious and regular meals, can prevent further hair loss. Some individuals may resort to artificial hair aids or natural hair transplant, which is not so popular amongst Asians.
